Wild Things

Objective

Our team’s objective is to create a cohesive core game flow for Wild Things and as well as mapping first time user experiences in the game. We started with the core user flow and once it was approved, we moved on to other features/areas of the game. This step is to ground designers when designing features for the game. Not to limit them but to establish a template for all to use.

Disclaimer: These user flow may not be present in the current build of the game.

Game World

Game World and Cleansing Meta Flow – The initial concept for Wild Things was to clear the area of a poisonous fog that covers the entire land. This was done using the “leaf” our narrative currency. This leaf is earned after completing a level.

Play Level

Play Level Flow – User flow for playing a level in Wild Things. Apart from just playing the level. I needed to add a flow for pregame and post game win and lose. Pregame flow shows when the users do not have enough lives to play a level and the game should lead them to the refill lives screen, to the friends page to claim requested lives, or request lives if the user is connected to a social network, and ultimately to the currency store if the user cannot afford to buy lives. Post Game lose give users the option for retrying for free through video ads, or using currency and Post Game win leads to the rewards screen and ultimately to the Game World.

Wild Thing Profile Menu

Animal Profile Flow – Where user can access their Wild Things. The Wild Things are the animals that you’re partnered with in a match 3 level. They have special abilities that can help you turn the tide of the game. Our initial concepts were to have these animals be taken care of and interacted, similar to a Pokemon. We were going to have stats and feeding and XPs to level up your Wild Thing. Our initial design concepts will have more than 6 Wild Things that a user can play with, and you can upgrade their abilities as well. During produciton, the team has decided and preferred a more simple approach to this to cater to our target demographic.
