Wild Things

Summary

Modals are game elements that deliver information and require interactivity from users. These “Pop-ups” are very important in the game. We see them all the time but it needs to look cohesive and at least related to the game that the users are playing. It has to be good enough to be seen and good enough to be clicked or tapped, yet it doesn’t need to stand out. I’ve created a template directly in Unity so that an Engineer or a Game Designer can just duplicate the template and work on the modal that they need. It has been proven to be efficient and time-saving for the team. Polish is still required but at least the modal is done. Here are our modal visuals and layouts that are approved and implemented in game:

Generic Modal

Generic Modal – Modal which holds basic information and function buttons.

Generic Modal with Image

Generic Modal with Image – Similar to the generic modal specifications but with an additional hero image to push the message.

Custom Header Modal

Custom Header Modal – This modal is mainly used for special features and events.

Tabbed Modal

Tabbed Modal – Used as a utility modal to host information that users need for more detailed information, game progress, and interactions.
